Happy 2020 my faithful readers. On this MLK Day, oh taste and see what God has in store for you in this new year. I am blessed that this is the 10th year that I have published a blog post on business bible verses. When you carry God in your heart, how can you be disappointed? Your relationship with him is what defines you. He presented us with the gift of who he is. There is something God is trying to birth in us. Problems are a platform for promotion in our Lord Jesus Christ. You are not the same person when you survive a storm. When you survive the storm, you have a different level of faith, patience, empathy, humility, and understanding. You need to get a word from God every day and share your faith walk with others. Here are my ten bible verses for 2020.
Proverbs 10:22 (NIV) The Blessing of the Lord brings wealth without painful toil for it.
As business owners, sometimes we fall into the trap of equating our physical wealth with our worth. That is not what defines us. It is fine to strive for success, but our relationship with the Lord is what defines us. Things that happen in the world should not be given too much value. Our goal is everlasting life.
Amos 5:24 (NIV) But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!
When we think of righteousness, is it important to know this word means acting in accord with the moral law; free from guilt or sin. So what a blessing it is to benefit from God’s sacrifice. His love never changes.
Psalm 30:5 (NIV) Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
Trouble and despair are temporary. What a blessing it is to serve a God who can make your next day, your best day and your next year your best year. Know that where you sit today, has nothing to do with where you are going. His favor lasts a lifetime.
Ephesians 6:14 (NIV) Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.
You start every day with God’s approval. You don’t need anyone else’s. When you carry God in your heart, how can you be disappointed? How can you let self-doubt or depression when you have factual information? Always remember God’s covering.
Colossians 3:15 (NIV) Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
No matter what happens, you need to keep your emotions in check. People who do not know God’s peace will say anything, especially to provoke a reaction out of you. Don’t take the bait. Use this as an opportunity to forgive someone who doesn’t even know they need to be forgiven and then move on. No response is required other than Thank you.
Colossians 1:9 (NIV) For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding, and Spirit gives.
Suffering is a silence that does not serve anyone. Don’t stay away from the church. It does you a disservice because you need to ask warriors for Christ to pray for you. But you also never know how someone could be facing the same struggle, and feeling all alone. Share your faith walk and let God use you to make something beautiful.
I John 5:4 (NIV) For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
God has already forgiven our sins. If you are a believer, you just need to pray and ask God for forgiveness, and it shall be granted in an instant. All that is required is faith that he is the Great, I am.
Joshua 24:14 (NIV) Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness……and serve the Lord.
Our first calling on our life and business is to be of service to others. It is how we honor God. My favorite quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is “Not everyone can be famous, but anyone can be great because greatness is determined through service.”
Psalm 40:10 (NIV) I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help. I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness from the great assembly.
Share your testimony. Brokenness is a sign that you’ve already been blessed. He will turn your brokenness into power to bless somebody else.
Matthew 19:26 (NIV) Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Whenever you are in doubt, remember that you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you. Because with God, anything is possible.
I pray that my translation of God’s word will breathe life into you as you move forward in your business in 2020. My hope is that you are encouraged and that your business is successful beyond your wildest dreams this year. Always know that God sees you and loves you. Stay blessed.
