time-371226_640Keeping track of time is an important element of success for a company of any size. Without proper time tracking it is impossible to know how employees use their work time and allocate areas of workflow that need improvement.

In order to benefit from time tracking, you have to find the tool that will work the best for your business and will not consume even more time. An automatic time tracking software can help you with that.

The greatest benefit of automatic time tracking applications is that they run in the background and do not require human interaction, while providing you with insights on the performance of your company.

Except for that, here are four ways your business can benefit from using automatic time tracking software.

Improve business intelligence

Employee time is the most valuable resource for any workplace and company. However, few businesses have a clear notion of how this resource is being used. Automatic time tracking software helps to make it clear:

  • How employees use their time;
  • Which employees are overloaded and underutilized;
  • Track productivity patterns, i.e. how employee productivity changes during the day, or how team size growth affects productivity;
  • Which websites are the expensive distraction for your employees;
  • Which software is actually being utilized by your team (so you can stop paying for applications that you don’t use).

Eliminate data entry errors

Data entry is present in the life of every company. However, it is often monotonous and time-consuming.

If you still track employee time using manual methods, like paper timesheets or Excel spreadsheets, you are creating a room for mistakes.

Employees who collect and then enter the data into a base are put under a big pressure. The more data they enter, the more mistakes they tend to make. The faster they do it, the more mistypes they make.

An automatic time tracking software helps to eliminate this problem, because it collects all the data about time and attendance without human interaction. So, in the end you get accurate tracking data, which helps to get ready for payroll faster and bill clients properly.

Increased employee productivity

Without clear visual data we all feel like we work harder than the others. In real life though, the truth might be different and we don’t know about it.

The vendors of the best automatic time tracking software provide their product with personal statistics. Employees receive visual reports, that allow them to see where the time goes and study their productivity patterns. Now all is up to employees. They can either keep doing the great job that they already do, or look for ways to be even more productive.

Workplace transparency

All employees are equal when time is tracked automatically. With manual methods the possibility of employees adding up a couple hours to the total worked time is rather high.

Automatic time tracking gives you the opportunity to nominate the best employees of your company, so when you praise someone’s work, you know for sure that they deserve it. Appreciation is a powerful driver for employee productivity and motivation.

You are more than welcome to share the benefits you’ve experienced with automatic time tracking software in the comment section below.

    I really like the points you made about bringing more business knowledge to light by using this type of software. More information like that can really help a business, especially if they are a smaller company. It would also keep employees more accountable!

    Tracking time is one of the easiest ways to keep track of employee productivity, especially for projects that are outsourced, completed at home or done while traveling. It doesn’t surprise anymore that this kind of solution has group of supporters growing rapidly.
    However, many employees still view time tracking as a hassle, so ood time management practices should be well explained.
