5 Reasons Why Businesses Need SEO social imageYou’ve heard about SEO. You are convinced that SEO works really well for different types of businesses online. What you might be wondering is the why— why a business needs SEO and why it’s so powerful.

SEO is a strategic process of increasing a website’s traffic quality and quantity by boosting its visibility to search engine users.

In short, it is crucial for greater searchability and visibility. Is that all? Nope! It provides and offers a lot more value than that.

And in this article, we will show you 5 solid reasons to use SEO.

Top Reasons To Invest In SEO

1.  It Helps You Stand Out And Survive

Do you have any idea just how many small businesses are popping up across the world?

Well, in just the U.S. alone, there were 30.2 billion small businesses in 2018.

In 2019, that number rose to 30.7 billion. Ninety percent of the world’s businesses are Small and Medium Enterprises (SMBs) and accounts for over 50 percent of global employment.

Now you might be thinking that the future looks bright for SMBs. But is it?

Although there are billions of small businesses, there is also more competition than ever and, in many ways, the market is tougher to make it in.

In fact, 8 out of 10 small businesses fail.

According to a report on 2018 Frequently Asked Questions About Small Business, roughly 80 percent of small businesses survive their first year. That ain’t bad.

But, from there, the numbers start falling sharply. Only half of small businesses survive past the 5-year mark. This ranges from 45.4 – 51 percent, depending on the year that the business started.

Beyond that, only 1 in 3 small businesses make it to the 10-year mark and live to tell the tale!

And there is a reason why most small businesses cannot make it past the 5-year mark: competition.  Because whether you are a pizza place in a small town or a plumbing service provider in a city, there are lots of other small businesses that offer the same products and services.

Okay, so where am I going with this? SEO strategies can help you stand out and survive!  How?

The main reason why businesses invest in building a website is to attract traffic.  This increases their customer base and helps them stand out from the noise and crowd.

But even the best-looking websites will be useless without the implementation of good SEO strategies. SEO is the most efficient online marketing tool. It’s an effective technique that businesses need in order to survive in this digital age and take their businesses to the next level.

2.  It Makes You Credible And Trustworthy

Establishing real authority will and can positively affect your business. However, it will not happen fast. Like personal relationships, your brand needs to work hard to show credibility and earn the trust of your audience.

So, how do you do that? Effective SEO strategies can help your brand build credibility and trust in the eyes of search engines, which equates to looking good in the eyes of your customers..

Also, there is a strong belief amongst search users that a trustworthy and credible business will always and can only be found on the 1st page of Google.

In fact, 75 percent of search users will never, ever, scroll past the 1st page of a search result.

Search users will perceive your business as an authority when they see you ranking high for the right keywords. You cannot afford to be ranking on the 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th page and missing out on the traffic and clicks you’ll need to grow and succeed.

There are numerous elements that go into establishing authority in search engines. Authority obtained over time is a result of elements such as:

  • Machine-learning signals
  • Positive user interface
  • Quality backlink profiles
  • Optimized on-page content and elements

Take note, however, that establishing credibility and authority takes effort, patience, and commitment. But, it also helps to partner with a trustworthy and reputable provider of link building services or other SEO service providers.

3.  It Impacts The Buying Cycle

In this digital world, the use of search engines is at its highest level, with over 3.5 billion daily searches made on Google only.

Today’s consumers rely on search engines in order to help them find everything from products and services to household recommendations and food recipes.

That is one of the biggest advantages of the internet from the customers’ perspective.

Thus, whatever your business, your customer is likely searching on the search engines for a service or a product that matches what you’re offering.

For a worthwhile connection to be made, the placement of your brand needs to be visible and easy to find for your customers.  SEO enhances that visibility and allows prospective customers to find and connect with businesses providing solutions in products and services that will meet their needs.

4.  It’s A Cheap And Long-Term Strategy

SEO costs money.

Depending on your circumstances, SEO might be expensive. This could include business marketing, press coverage strategies, link building techniques, quality content and a lot more. However, there is no better way to spend money on your business.

This is not a marketing cost but rather a true business investment. You’ll end up considering SEO as providing an excellent return on your investment, thanks to the outstanding payoff in terms of a business’s benefit and bottom line.

As you continue to invest in your SEO, you will build up your website, driving more and more customers to your business, providing a chance for greater stability in  your business for years to come.

SEO can have a visible impact within its first year. Many of those results will have a long-lasting impact that lasts for years. The more effort, time, and budget committed to SEO, the better and longer a website stands to be a commendable contender in the market.

5.  It Stays

SEO is something that will not be going away anytime soon.

In fact, as the world becomes more digitally dependent, SEO is something that is only going to grow more important over time as the percentage of the population searching the web is expected to increase 53.7 percent by 2021!

In addition, Cybersecurity Ventures predicted that there will be 6 billion Internet users by 2022 and over 7.5 billion Internet users by 2030.

And with more people turning online, SEO becomes an even more important investment you would do well to consider now.

SEO techniques and strategies will continue to evolve as the world market and competition evolve.

Thus, businesses need to adapt and implement SEO strategies as part of their overall marketing plan in order to ensure maximum effectiveness in the long-term.

Search engines are a part of modern life and this won’t be changing anytime soon. So, as long as people are using search engines, you might want your business to be there for them to find!

Conclusion

It will prove beneficial for both your brand and your marketing efforts to implement quality and solid SEO for your online business. SEO is a new-age marketing strategy; to be taken seriously in this day and age.

We hope this article helps convince you to start implementing an SEO strategy for your business. If you have any questions, feel free to drop one at the comment section below and we’ll try our best to answer it!
