5 Reasons Why Video Is An Essential Tool for Content Marketing Social imageThe content marketing landscape has evolved throughout the years. The usual blog posts with text and images have become a thing of the past, and video content has surged throughout the web.

Chances are when you google something or open your Instagram you’re bound to see at least one video in your search results or social media feed.

As a marketing tool, online video is found to be 600% more effective than print and direct mail combined, according to Diode Digital. This is because video marketing is much more versatile and shareable— making them an ideal medium for reaching the audience.

What are some other reasons that make video a perfect tool for content marketing? Find out more as we discuss the five reasons that make video an essential tool for content marketing:

1.We’re visual learners

Videos take less effort to process when compared to reading text. When learning a new subject, there’s a high chance that many people would rather learn through video than through a textbook.

This is because we are all visual learners, and we thrive when we learn with visual aid. Videos are great for learning because when information is presented in both visual and audio, we have a much easier time processing them.

According to a psychological researcher Liraz Margalit of Psychology Today, our brains process videos 60,000 times faster than text.

2. Video boosts conversion and sales

Apparently, explainer videos boost conversions by 20% on average, and when they’re embedded above the fold on your home page, they work especially well.

Consumers will purchase after watching a video, according to Tubular Insights. This is because people tend to buy or sign up for something after they get to know the product and its nooks and crannies.

People get to know the product by watching videos about it or even reviews. Product demonstrations are also a great way to boost sales and conversion rates since it gives the audience a demo of how to use the product.

3. Video is great for SEO

Due to their visually appealing and often short format, videos are excellent for sharing on social media platforms. In fact, according to statistics, after watching a branded video they found enjoyable, 83% of consumers said they would consider sharing the video.

Other than that, having an explainer video can help you improve your SEO. Having a video on your landing page will retain visitors and keep them from leaving the page— helping you with your SEO.

Did you know that Google loves videos? Since they’re the biggest search engine, being on top of their search results can help you heaps. You’re 53 times more likely to show up first on Google if you have a video embedded on your website.

4. Mobile users love video

A majority of videos are watched on mobile devices— about 90% of them. Since 2013, mobile video views have grown more than 233% and YouTube reports mobile video consumption rises 100% annually.

More mobile users mean brands need to be aware of the personal experiences people have on their phones. This means that your audience on mobile is growing— making them the perfect market.

5. Video is concise

Videos do a great job of conveying complicated and lengthy information in a concise and timely manner. Because of this, people won’t be bored since they’re only a few minutes.

Videos save people a lot of time, making them a favorite for many. According to research, 51% of Millennials would watch a video than read the same content.

The reality is, no one has that much time to sit through a 20-minute article. So, videos are perfect for content marketing since they are concise and easy to process, making the information easily receivable by the audience.
