Developing a Vision Board for 2022 social image2022 is here, and as a small business owner, I’m sure you have plenty of goals and ideas for the year ahead. So, this year, I encourage you to get serious about what you want to achieve by developing a vision board.

A vision board is a collage-like project filled with words, statements, and images that reflect what you want to manifest in your life or your business. As you go about your day-to-day life, you’re already envisioning things. By developing a vision board, you move those fleeting thoughts and ideas into something tangible. Your vision board will reinforce your positive thoughts, harness your energy, and help you advance your goals.

The best time for developing a vision board is at the beginning of the year or your birthday (although you could start one at any time that is meaningful to you!). At these times, we’re naturally more reflective and open to creating new plans and directions in our life.

So, the time to get started is now! And this blog post covers everything you need to know about developing a vision board that will inspire you throughout 2022.

The Law of Attraction

Developing a Vision Board for 2022 law of attraction

A vision board works based on the law of attraction. As a general definition, the law of attraction is “a philosophy suggesting that positive thoughts bring positive results into a person’s life, while negative thoughts bring negative outcomes.” It holds that thoughts are a form of energy, and we create our own reality based on what we focus on in our thoughts.

In other words, your thoughts reflect what you are able to attract and receive. When you align your thoughts with your desires, the magic happens. Thinking the right thoughts is a precursor to attracting the things you want.

A vision board works with the principles of the law of attraction. You create your board to reflect your thoughts and the things you want to happen in your life. The board is a visual reminder, resonating with the positive energy of what you wish to achieve and manifest.

And vision boards work! So long as they are used in conjunction with a mindset shift and intentional actions. The mindset shift required is believing that you deserve what you desire. And, of course, you then have to act on the things in your vision board. Developing a vision board can open possibilities for you, but hard work is always necessary for success.

Types of Vision Boards

There are four different kinds of vision boards you create:

1. Crystal Clear

Developing a Vision Board for 2022 crystal clear

This is the board to create if you are very clear on what you want in your future—it is specific and exact. For example, if you want to go to Paris within one year, the goal is clear, and so are the images and the sets of words that reflect that goal. Your board may include the flag of France, an image of the Eiffel Tower, names of the cuisine you’d like to try, French words, etc.

2. In Flux

If you aren’t sure what you want, what you should be doing, or where you want to go, this is the board for you. As you develop your vision board, choose images and words that ‘speak to you.’ Then, as you continue to add to and edit your board, you’ll be fine-tuning your direction.

3. Themed

If you are working on a particular area of your life or business or planning for a specific event, you can use a themed vision board. For example, if the event is your birthday, and you want to manifest something specific by that time, you could include the age you’ll be, words that reflect what you want to achieve, etc.

4. Categories

Finally, if you are looking at several areas of your life or business, you may want to create a vision board with several categories to capture them singularly and as a whole. For example, you may have categories for purpose/mission, service, finances, spirit/faith, health, relationship, career, business, etc.

5 Steps for Developing a Vision Board

Now that you understand how a vision board works with the law of attraction and the different vision boards you may create, it’s time to get started. The simple steps below will help you develop a vision board for whatever you want to manifest in your life or business.

1. Evaluate

In this step, you should examine the previous year. What did you want to manifest last year? Did you achieve any of those goals? Do you still desire those things, or is there something else you’re prioritizing?

2. Brainstorm

In the brainstorming phase of developing a vision board, you get to work. Gather magazines, photos of yourself, and pictures of your family and friends that you may want to use on your board. You’re looking to gather images related to whatever the focus of your board will be.

Go through the magazines and cut out images and words that ‘speak to you.’ Choose words and images that resonate with you and the person you want to become. You may even find that you are drawn to a certain word or image, but you don’t exactly know why. Cut it out anyway! You’ll have time to organize later on. Your goal right now is to gather a large pile of options, so you have a lot to choose from when you start finalizing your selections.

3. Organize

Look through the large pile and select ones you may want to use. Then, start arranging the words and images on the board in a way that feels good to you—there are no rules! Play around with your choices, swap things out to see if it feels better, and move the elements around until you get a layout that feels right. Have fun with it! You are harnessing the energy that will reflect what you want to manifest.

4. Apply

Now it’s time to finalize your vision board. Grab the glue or tape and start to fasten your selected images and pictures to the board. Trust your instinct, and don’t stress.

5. Hang It

When your vision board is ready, hang it in a visible place where you will naturally encounter it throughout the day. Some examples are the bedroom wall or back of the bedroom door, your home office, family room, etc. Whenever you see it, take a minute to engage with it – reflect on what you have declared on your vision board and envision yourself attracting everything you desire related to it.

By following these steps and developing a vision board of your own, you can:

  • Transform your thinking and harness positive energy for the year ahead.
  • Create a visual reflection of your goals, which acts as a daily reminder.
  • Clarify, focus on, and achieve more of your goals.

So, will you be developing a vision board for 2022? What will be the focus of your vision board? What sort of words and images will you use? Let me know in the comments below.
