How to Use Images to Build Your Online ReputationGuest Post

Images are a powerful and dynamic storytelling tool. They can convey a message within a glance and can therefore make your website stand out from the rest. Images, such as those found on your website and infographics, can be a powerful marketing tool, especially for startups looking to earn links and gain recognition online. Images on a website can sometimes be so powerful that your text content gets ignored. Here are three ways how images can help startups enhance their online image.

1. Pictures Can Show Off the Personality of Your Brand.  People naturally gravitate towards individuals who have a vibrant personality. The same is true for your brand and website. You would do well to add pictures that give an impression of people at work, but having fun bringing a great product to their customers. Instead of using just plain pictures of your staff, make it interesting by getting them to pose with a product in a fun way. You can use a picture to make a product come alive and capture the attention of your site visitors as they stop to muse and even share it with their friends on social media platforms. That image now becomes a part of the things people remember when they hear or see the name of your brand.

2. Customers Enjoy Interacting with Images that are Shareable and Likable.  A simple click on one of your images can send it viral. It makes little sense to place great brand images on your website and not allow your visitors to like and share them. Liking and sharing pictures is a great pastime for many people on social media, where all sorts of images are shared. There are images that make people laugh, cry, get angry and even drop their jaw in utter disbelief. Appealing pictures tend to generate numerous comments within an instant of being shared on a social platform such as Facebook. The more visible your picture becomes over the internet, the larger the share of the market you cover, and the better you chances of improving sales. A positive Facebook and Twitter reputation goes a far way, and is an enviable marketing achievement.

3. Pictures Enhance the Experience of Your Visitors as They Navigate Your Site.  People enjoy interacting with pictures while they visit a retail site. Take Amazon for example – they display great pictures of the various products they offer and showcase a slide of related products under the item the visitor is viewing. A similar display on your website would have your visitors going from product to product as they are kept busily engaged in your store for quite some time. Another benefit of such a display is that it shows forward thinking as you bring similar products together on one page to give your visitors easy access. It also allows you to make relevant suggestions so that your customers have options to make an informed choice.

Images on your web site are an asset as they help you to tell your story in various ways, improve/enhance the experience of your visitors, promote your brand and reputation in a positive way, and give wings to your overall marketing efforts. There’s really no reason for you not to be up and about right now taking some great pictures to add to your website.

Great share! As a former layout coordinator for the National Geographic Magazine I understand the importance of the power of images. This is so helpful because we as small business owners my understand the magnitude of the photos we pick for our sites. Thanks!

Images definitely bode well. I don’t think I use them enough on my blog, but there is definitely a correlation in social media to when I use images and when I don’t.

Great reminder about the power of images. I believe images are the “spice” that enhances good to great content.

Just like salt enhances the flavor of a good steak, images entices the reader to sample and it makes good content even tastier!

    Thanks again.

You could certainly see your skills within the work you write. The sector hopes for more passionate writers such as you who aren’t afraid to say how they believe. At all times follow your heart.
