It’s Summer, and that means it’s time to grab to good book and grow your expertise. There are many business books that have delivered an array of insightful and actionable reads. Here are a particular set of books that I find valuable for small business owners seeking to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship. Here are the top 15 business books I recommend digging into over the next few months. Each offer unique perspectives and practical advice to help your small businesses thrive.

  1. “Tiny Business, Big Money: Strategies for Creating a High-Revenue Microbusiness” by Elaine Pofeldt

Elaine Pofeldt gives readers the steps toward their next entrepreneurial venture, including testing an idea’s market viability while limiting risk, finding cash without giving up control, protecting your personal time and avoiding burn out, and knowing when it is time to start micro-scaling. Her focus is businesses under 20 employees, and this is a great read.

  1. “Coach Builder: How to Turn Your Expertise into a Profitable Coaching Career” by Donald Miller

Whether you’re thinking about starting a consulting business or have been coaching for a while, Coach Builder by Donald Miller will give you the 8-step plan every self-employed coach needs to be successful.

Kristie Jones has written a sales book for sales professionals, but any business owner can apply the principles in Selling Your Way IN to reach their professional sales goals. She breaks down how to understand your sales superpower, your secret weapons, and how to leverage mental memory, so that they can outperform your competitors.  I saw a preview copy of this book it’s amazing.

  1. “All In: How Great Leaders Build Unstoppable Teams” by Mike Michalowicz

ALL IN! by Mike Michalowicz is an excellent “must-read” book for all business owners who aspire to be more effective leaders. I admire that Mike shares his own mistakes and learning, which makes him so authentic, and he leads by example. I appreciate the extra resources, books, and other people’s stories he shares throughout as well as concrete strategies to empower the “team” as he prefers to say. This is another great read.

  1. “Scaling Up Simplified” by Verne Harnish

Verne Harnish has done it again. This book breaks down the often daunting task of scaling a business into manageable steps, offering clear strategies and real-world examples. For small business owners, “Scaling Up Simplified” provides a roadmap to growth, addressing common challenges and offering practical solutions to expand operations without losing control. Read this book at least once.

  1. “Digital Marketing Mastery” by Ann Handley and Joe Pulizzi

Digital Marketing Mastery is comprehensive guide covers the latest trends and techniques in digital marketing, from social media strategies to SEO optimization.
